 LEVEL
ONE POWERBOAT
Level one power boat, run
over one day. The course covers the basic seamanship
skills and includes boat handling under power
in a controlled manner. The course is ideally
suited to complete beginners with little or no
previous experience.
LEVEL
TWO POWERBOAT
This qualification is the pre-requisite for all
instructor courses and provides a standard of
competence that most sailing clubs look for. The
course runs over two days and incorporates close
quarters manoeuvring, picking up moorings and
coming alongside, as well as high speed techniques,
S and U turns and man over board. There are some
additional theory sessions looking at boat design,
rules of the road, different engine types and
safety afloat. On completion of this course you
are entitled to apply for your international certificate
of competence, which is required abroad.
